THE SHANGRI-LAS. American girl group of the 1960s consisting of Mary Weiss / her sister Elizabeth "Betty" Weiss and twin sisters Marguerite "Marge" Ganser and Mary Ann Ganser. Between 1964 and 1966 the group became famous for several hit pop songs which documented teen tragedies and melodramas. They continue to be known for their hits ; "Remember (Walking in the Sand)" / "Give Him a Great Big Kiss" and in particular the classic "Leader of the Pack" which went to No1 in the United States in late 1964. Mary Ann Ganser sadly died aged just 22 of drug complications in 1970. Her sister Marge Ganser died of breast cancer aged 48 on July 28th 1998. Mary Weiss died in California aged 75 on January 19th 2024

Love always) / Mary Ann Ganser d1970 (A real swinging guy) and Marge Ganser d1996 (Lots of luck in everything)
Also signed and dedicated (To Art) in ink by all five group members of THE ZOMBIES ; Rod Argent (keep singing as well as you sing now & you'll be OK mate) / Chris White (remember The Fox) / Colin Blunstone / Hugh Grundy (all the very best good luck in the future see you soon) and Paul Atkinson d2004 (see you soon I hope. I don't suspect you will forget the fun !)
