Simone Signoret

SIMONE SIGNORET d1985. French cinema actress often hailed as one of France's greatest film stars. She became the first French person to win an Academy Award for her role in Room at The Top (1959). During her lifetime she also received a Cesar / three BAFTA's / an Emmy / a Silver Bear award for Best Actress and a Golden Globe nomination. She died aged 64 of pancreatic cancer in 1985.
