SINEAD O'CONNOR d2023. Irish singer-songwriter who rose to fame in the late 1980s with her debut album "The Lion and The Cobra". She achieved worldwide success in 1990 with her cover of "Nothing Compares 2U". Throughout her career she has regularily courted controversy with her outspokenness, shorn head, views on religion & womens rights, war and her own sexuality whilst maintaining her singing career often collaberating with other artists and appearing at fund-raising events. She died aged just 56 on July 26th 2023
