Sonny & Cher

SONNY AND CHER. American husband and wife singing and acting duo (between 1964-1977) best known for their worldwide 1965 No1 hit "I Got You Babe". Cher began as a backing singer for Phil Spector with groups like The Ronettes ; Sonny Bono was a songwriter and producer. During the 1970s, they enjoyed huge success with their TV show "The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour". The couple divorced in 1975. Sonny Bono became an actor and politician, but died aged 62 in a skiing accident at Lake Tahoe in 1998. Cher has continued her succesful music and acting career to the present day .....
