Steps

STEPS. British BRIT award winning dance pop-group first formed in 1997. They have released four studio albums, three compilation albums and seventeen singles to date (14 consecutive Top 5 and two UK No1s Tragedy and Stomp). Their musical approach throughout their career has always had a strong 1990s dance-pop / house / electro-pop and bubble-gum sound, similar to many artists of this time. Their name was based on a simple marketing gimmick : that each of their music videos were to be choreographed and the dance steps were included in the sleeve with most of their singles. Claire Richards and Ian H Watkins departed acrimoniously causing the band to disband on 26th December 2001. Their final album of greatest hits Gold (2001) then became their second No1 LP in the UK. Steps got together in May 2011 for a four-part documentary series entitled "Steps : The Reunion" which led to them reforming and embarking on a sell-out 22 date 2012 UK Tour ........
