Supertramp

SUPERTRAMP. British rock band formed in 1969 under the name Daddy. The groups work is uniquely marked by the songwriting of Rick Davies and Roger Hodgson, the unique voice of Hodgson and the use of Wurlitzer electic piano and saxophone within their songs. While the band's early work was mainstream progressive rock, they enjoyed huge critical acclaim and commercial success when they incorporated more conventional and radio-friendly elements into their work in the mid-1970s. A series of exceptional defining albums including ; Crime of The Century (1974) / Crisis What Crisis (1975) / Even in The Quietist Moments (1977) and Breakfast in America (1979) led to sales of over 60 million LPs (including 20 million alone of Breakfast in America). Though their albums were generally far more successful than their singles, the group did enjoy a number of major hits throughout the 1970-1980s including ; Bloody Well Right / Give a Little Bit / The Logical Song / Goodbye Stranger / Take the Long Way Home / Dreamer / Breakfast in America and Its Raining Again .... The band attained significant popularity in the United States, Canada, Europe, South Africa and Australia. Since Roger Hodgson's departure in 1983, founder Rick Davies has led the band by himself .............
