THE SWEENEY. Popular 1970s British television police drama that focused on two members of The Flying Squad dealing with and tackling violent crime in London. It ran for four series and 53 episodes between 1975-1978. It starred John Thaw d2002 as Detective Inspector Jack Regan and Dennis Waterman as Detective Sergeant George Carter.
