Sylvia Sidney

SYLVIA SIDNEY d1999. American actress whose 60 year career began in the 1930s (often playing gangsters wives) opposite the screen idols of the period in films including ; Sabotage (1936) / Fury (1936) / You Only Live Once (1937) / Dead End (1937) / Blood On The Sun (1945) and as Fantine in Les Miserables (1952). In her latter years into the 1990s, she had many supporting roles (due to her well known husky voice) in films including ; Damien Omen 2 / Beetlejuice and Mars Attacks ... She died of cancer aged 88 in 1999.
