TELLY SAVALAS d1994. American film actor and singer best known for playing the title role of Kojak in the very popular 1970s TV cop series. In his notable film career he was nominated for an Academy Award for best supporting actor in "The Birdman Of Alcatraz" (1962). Other major movie credits include ; Young Savages (1961) / Battle Of The Bulge (1965) / The Dirty Dozen (1967) / On Her Majestys Secret Service (1969 ) / Kelly Heroes (1970) and Escape To Athena (1979). He died of cancer related illness aged 72 in 1994.
