Terence Edmond

TERENCE EDMOND d2009. English actor famous for playing PC Ian Sweet in 78 episodes of the classic police TV series Z-Cars between 1962-64. His popular character was killed off in Episode 100 of the drama (transmitted live in 1964 to 17 million viewers) to the shock of his many fans. The fictional PC drowned after an heroic but ill-advised attempt to save a young boy. Major roles in later life then eluded him. He died on March 14th 1969 aged 69 from bronchiectasis.
