The Freehold-Phil Collins

THE FREEHOLD. British group most famous for being one of later Genesis drummer Phil Collins earliest bands after he had answered a Melody Maker advert. With them he wrote, recorded and sang the lead on his first song "Lying, Crying, Dying" at the celebrated Regent Sound Studios in Soho London in 1968. He later went onto play with Hickory and Flaming Youth before joining Genesis. Other group members were ; Jeff Slater (vocals) / Les Mannering (bass) and John "Fluff" Hunt (guitar)
