THE JOURNEYMEN. American folk music trio of the early 1960s comprising of John Phillips / Scott McKenzie and Dick Weissman best known for their singles "River Come Down". They split in 1964 and in 1965 John and Michelle Phillips along with Denny Doherty and Cass Elliot formed The Mamas and the Papas, enjoying great success in the mid to late 1960s. John Phillips also wrote and co-produced Scott McKenzie's 1967 global hit, "San Francisco-Flowers in Your Hair". John Phillips died aged 65 on March 18th 2001 and Scott McKenzie aged 73 on August 18th 2012.
