THE WOLVES. English pop-beat group of the 1960s from Wolverhampton. Formed originally as Gerry Sinclair & The Sella-Kats and later known as The Big Beats they rebranded in May 1964 after getting permission from Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club. Managed by local businessman Geoff Jacobs, they signed to Pye Records and became the first local group to appear on the television show Thank Your Lucky Stars
