About Tommy Cooper

Tommy Cooper

TOMMY COOPER d1984. Legendary Welsh prop comedian and magician who made an art- form out of getting his tricks wrong ; though he was actually a very accomplished magician and member of The Magic Circle. Famed for wearing his trademark red fez, he suffered badly with stage nerves and became a heavy drinker to combat these later in his career. He sadly died of a heart attack aged 63 on 15th April 1984 whilst performing on The ITV stage in "Live from His Majestys.
