An original vintage 1960 index card, clearly signed in ink by William Wyler


From the wonderful Michael Pinchbeck collection. This amazing collection consisted of over 2000+ music / entertainment / sport / politics & pioneers autographs on index cards / books / letters & photographs. All obtained in-person and through the post by him for 50+ years between the 1950s-1990s. The majority are dedicated to him and date stamped. As part of his archiving, there are numerous letters that help support the history and provenance of his lifetime dedication to the hobby of autograph collecting. Date notation is October 1960. WILLIAM WYLER d1981. Swiss-German-American film director and producer who won the Academy Award for Best Director three times, those being for ; Mrs Miniver (1942) / The Best Years of Our Lives (1946) and Ben-Hur (1959), all of which also won for Best Picture. In total, he had a record twelve nominations for the Academy Award for Best Director. He died in California aged 79 on July 27th 1981
