Woolf Barnato

WOOLF BARNATO d1948. British financier and racing driver who was one of the famous "Bentley Boys" of the 1920s. He famously achieved three consecutive wins out of three entries (1928-30) in the Le Mans 24 Hours race. He died at the London Clinic Devonshire Place aged 52 on July 27th 1948 as a result of a thrombosis after a cancer operation. His funeral cortege was led by his Bentley 'Old Number One' which was covered with flowers and wreaths
