ANDY WHITE. Scottish drummer who replaced Ringo Starr on drums on the studio recording of The Beatles first single Love Me Do in 1962. White featured on the American 7" single release of the song, which also appeared on the band's debut British album, Please Please Me. He also played drums on the "Love Me Do" single B Side PS I Love You. White played as a session musician with many other prominent musicians and groups of the period, including Chuck Berry / Billy Fury and Tom Jones. Descibed as "one of the busiest drummers in England from the late '50s through the mid-'70s".
