Dads Army

DADS ARMY. British BBC TV comedy series based around The Home Guard of World War 2. Extremely popular it ran for 80 episodes, regularily attracting 18 million + viewers between 1968-1977 and also became a feature film / radio show and stage show. The antics of the seven main characters are now legendary and have instilled into popular culture many still commonly used everyday catchphrases like "You Stupid Boy". In a 2004 TV poll it was voted the 4th greatest sitcom ever. Today it is still rarely off our TV screens and has a whole new legion of fans and appreciation societies. Ian Lavender (Private Pike) the last surviving main cast member sadly died aged 77 on February 2nd 2024
