Doors

Doors

THE DOORS. American rock band first formed in Los Angeles California in 1965 , led by Jim Morrison one of the most iconic frontmen in pop music history. They were among the most controversial rock acts of the 1960s, due mostly to Morrison's wild poetic lyrics and his charismatic but unpredictable stage persona. Their best known studio LPs include US Top 10 hits ; The Doors / Strange Days 1967 / Waiting For The Sun 1968 / The Soft Parade 1969 / Morrison Hotel 1970 and No1 singles , Light My Fire and Hello I Love You. Jim Morrison was mysteriously found dead in the bathtub of his Paris appartment from a probable heroin overdose , on July 3rd 1971 aged just 27 . After Morrison's death , the remaining members continued as a trio until finally disbanding in 1973. Although The Doors' active career ended in 1973, their popularity and interest in singer Jim Morrison has persisted. According to the RIAA , they have sold over 35 million albums in the US alone. Ray Manzarek and Robby Krieger still occasionally tour together with additional musicians as Manzarek-Krieger performing Doors songs exclusively.
