JOE LOUIS d1981. Legendary heavyweight boxer nicknamed "The Brown Bomber" widely considered to have been one of the greatest champions of them all. His record 72 fights / 69 wins / 55 KO / 3 draws. He held the title for eleven years making 25 defences. In 2003, Ring Magazine rated him No1 on the list of the greatest punchers of all time. He remained a celebrity and national hero throughout his life, but suffered badly with taxation and financial issues. His most famous quote ; "You can run but you can't hide ...". He died aged 66 of a heart attack in Desert Springs in 1981
