MUDDY WATERS d1983. American blues musician born McKinley Morganfield, generally considered to be the "father of modern Chicago Blues". He was a major inspiration for the British blues explosion of the 1960s and for groups like The Rolling Stones. He died aged 70 from heart-failure in 1983. He is ranked at No17 in Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time.
