ROBERT DE NIRO. American actor, director and producer. His first major film roles were in Bang The Drum Slowly and Mean Streets in 1973. In 1974, he was cast as the young Vito Corleone in The Godfather Part II a role for which he won the Academy Award for Best Supporting actor. His longtime collaboration with director Martin Scorsese began with Mean Streets and later earned De Niro another Academy Best Actor award for his portrayal of Jake Lamotta in Raging Bull (1980). He would also garner nominations for Taxi Driver (1976) and Cape Fear (1991). Other distinquished film roles have included ; The Deer Hunter (1978) / Awakenings (1990) / Goodfellas (1990) / Analyze This (1999) and Meet The Parents (2000). One of the finest actors of his generation, he has constantly received accolades throughout his career including ; a AFI Life Achievement Award and the Golden Globe Cecil B Demille award. ...............
