Apollo 11

APOLLO 11. The first manned space mission to land on the moon and the fifth human spaceflight of Project Apollo. Launched on July 16th 1969, it carried Commander Neil Armstrong ,Command Module pilot Michael Collins and Lunar Module pilot Edwin Buzz Aldrin. On July 20th, Armstrong and Aldrin became the first humans to land on the moon, while Collins orbited above. At 2.56 UTC July 21st 1969, Neil Armstong became the first man to walk on the moon, uttering the now iconic and legendary words ; "Thats one small step for a man one giant leap for mankind". The craft returned safely to earth on July 24th.
