Emma Albani Gye

MADAME EMMA ALBANI GYE d1930. Canadian Opera Soprano of the late 19th century. She became an International Star performing for prestigious audiences around the world after making her debut at Covent Garden in 1872. A favorite of Queen Victoria, she sang the solo role at her funeral service in 1901. She died in London in 1930 in relative poverty after a series of poor financial investments
