FATAL ATTRACTION. American 1987 psychological thriller film directed by Adrian Lyne. The film centered on a married Manhattan man (Michael Douglas-Dan Gallagher) who has a weekend affair with a woman (Glenn Close-Alex Forrest) who refuses to allow it to end, resulting in her becoming obsessed with him and befriending his unsuspecting wife (Anne Archer-Beth Gallagher) with deadly consequences. The film was a huge hit taking $320 million USD at the worldwide box-office and finishing as the second highest-grossing film of 1987 in the USA and the highest-grossing film of the year worldwide. Critics were enthusiastic about the film and it received six Academy Award nominations including best film (which it lost to The Last Emperor)
