FRANK LOESSER d1969. American songwriter who wrote the music and lyrics for the Broadway musicals ; Guys and Dolls / How To Succeed in Business and others. He won separate Tony Awards for the music and lyrics in both shows. He also wrote songs for over 60 Hollywood films and for Tin Pan Alley, many of which have become standards. He was nominated for five Academy Awards (winning once) for "Baby It's Cold Outside". He died in New York aged 59 on July 28th 1969
