GLENN FORD d2006. Canadian born American film actor of Hollywoods Golden era whose prolific career lasted seven decades. Following military service his breakthrough role was starring in the 1946 film noir classic Gilda alongside Rita Hayworth.  New York Times movie reviewer Bosley Crowther praised Ford's "stamina and poise in a thankless role" despite the movie's poor direction. His film career flourished in the 1950s and 1960s and continued into the 1980s with many TV roles. His major roles in include ; A Stolen Life  / The Secret of Convict Lake / The Big Heat / Blackboard Jungle / Framed / Interrupted Melody / Experiment in Terror / Fastest Gun Alive / 3;10 to Yuma / Cimarron / The Gazebo and Cry for Happy. He died aged 90 in 2006.
