Henry Fonda

HENRY FONDA d1982. American film actor who made his career debut in 1935. His career then gained momentum after his Academy Award nominated performance as Tom Joad in "The Grapes Of Wrath (1940). Throughout his six decades in Hollywood, he created and cultivated a strong, appealing screen image in such classics as ; The Oxbow Incident / Mister Roberts / 12 Angry Men / Once Upon a Time In the West and On Golden Pond. The patriarch of a dynasty of famous actors including, daughter Jane Fonda / son Peter Fonda and grand-daughter Bridget Fonda. He died aged 77 in 1982 of heart disease. In 1999, he was named the sixth Greatest Male film-star of all time by the AFI
