HUBERT SUMLIN d2011. American Chicago-Blues guitarist and singer best known for his celebrated work from 1955 as the guitarist in Howlin Wolfs band. His singular playing was characterized by "wrenched shattering bursts of notes, sudden cliff-hanger silences and daring rhythmic suspensions". He is listed as No43 in Rolling Stone magazines "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time".
