JIMMY WILDE d1969. Welsh world boxing champion nicknamed "The Mighty Atom", "Ghost with the Hammer in his Hand" and "The Tylorstown Terror". He first turned professional in 1911. His career record 152 fights / 137 wins with 4 losses. He retired from the ring in 1923. Jimmy Wilde was the first official world flyweight champion and is rated by American boxing writer Nat Fleischer, as well as many other professionals and fans including famous former boxer, trainer, manager and promoter, Charley 'Broadway' Rose, as "the greatest flyweight ever".
