JOHNNY CASH d2003. American country singer song-writer known as "The Man in Black" remembered for his distinctive style and bass baritone voice. His career began in the mid 1950s at Sun Records under Sam Philips and in the following six decades he sold over 90 million albums. His best known recordings include ; "I Walk The Line" / "Folsom Prison Blues" / "Ring of Fire" / "A Boy Named Sue" and his duet with June Carter "Jackson". Always controversial, he suffered with poor health during his latter years and was devastated by the loss of his wife June Carter Cash in 2003. He died aged 71 on September 12th 2003 (just 4 months after his beloved wife)
