A wonderful original vintage 1955 autograph book page, clearly signed in ink by Colin Chapman / Ron Flockhart / Mechanics and Team members
At the bottom signed "Hazel (Cook !) "Better luck next time". Hazel was later to become "Mrs Colin Chapman .....
Of importance to a serious Lotus collector
Colin Chapman d1982. Innovative influential British sports car designer / inventor and founder of Lotus Cars in 1952. Team Lotus won 7 F1 constructors titles / 6 drivers championships and The Indianapolis 500 under his guidance between 1962-1978. He died of a heart attack aged 54 in 1982
Ron Flockhart d1962. Scottish racing driver who participated in 14 F1 Grand Prix scoring one podium. During his career driving for Maserati / BRM / Connaught / Cooper and Lotus. He is best known for back to back Le Mans 24 hours wins driving Jaguar D Types for Ecurie Ecosse in 1956 and 1957. He was killed in a plane crash on a test flight in Australia on 12th April 1962 whilst preparing for a Sydney to London record attempt
