LOU REED d2013. American singer-songwriter who first came to prominence in the 1960s with cult group The Velvet Underground. Probably best known for his outstanding "Transformer" album of 1972 (including classic tracks Satellite of Love and Walk On The Wild Side). His unquestionable talent never really yielded the rightful commercial chart success over the years. He died aged 71 of liver disease in 2013.
