Certification:Obtained by a relation of Steve C at this Anglo-American boxing dinner at the Hilton Hotel London on Monday May 9th 1966. Desirable as Muhammad Ali was the World Heavyweight Champion at this time. He had won the title from Sonny Liston in a major boxing upset on February 25th 1964 aged 22. Also that year, he renounced his birth name Cassius Clay, changing it to Muhammad Ali. In 1966, he refused to be drafted into the military owing to his religious beliefs and ethical opposition to the Vietnam War and was as a result stripped of his boxing titles.
