SHARON TATE d1969. Beautiful American actress model and cover girl who married Internationally recognised five times Oscar-nominated French-Polish film director ROMAN POLANSKI in Chelsea London on January 20th 1968. She was hailed as one of Hollywoods most promising newcomers of the 1960s following her roles in ; "Fearless Vampire Killers" (1964) and after receiving a Golden Globe nomination for "Valley of The Dolls" (1967). Her life was sadly and tragically cut short aged just 26 when she was infamously murdered at her Benedict Canyon home, whilst eight months pregnant, by the cult followers of Charles Manson. On August 8th 1969, she was just two weeks away from giving birth. She entertained two of her friends, actresses Johanna Pettet and Barbara Lewis for lunch at her home, confiding in them her disappointment at her husbands delay in returning from London. That evening she went to her favourite restaurant El Coyote with friends, returning home at about 10:30pm. During the night Sharon Tate, along with her friends Jay Sebring / Wojciech Frykowski and Abigail Folger were all murdered by members of Charles Mansons "family". Their bodies were discovered the following morning by her housekeeper, Winifred Chapman. Decades on the high profile nature of Sharon Tates death is still remembered in Hollywood. Its reprecussions still sending shock waves that will continue to influence possible amendments in Californian law
