Description

1) GINA LOLLOBRIGIDA ; Italian actress and photo-journalist. One of the most beautiful & prominent actresses in Europe of the 1950s and early 1960s. Her best known films include ; Trapeze (1956) with Burt Lancaster and Solomon and Sheba (1959) alongside Yul Brynner. Today, she remains an active supporter of Italian and Italian American causes (particularly the NIAF). In 2008, she received the NIAF Lifetime Achievement Award at the Foundation's Anniversary Gala.

2) BURT LANCASTER d1994 ; American film actor known for his distinctive manner and athletic physique, most often playing tough guy roles. Nominated four times for an Academy Award (winning once for Elmer Gantry in 1960). Other notable roles include ; Apache (1954) / Trapeze (1956) / Gunfight At The OK Coral (1957) / Separate Tables (1958) / The Unforgiven (1960) and The Birdman of Alcatraz (1962). He died of a heart attack in California aged 80 in 1994.

3) TONY CURTIS d2010 ; American film actor whose career spanned six decades with his greatest popularity during the 1950s and early 1960s. He acted in more than 100 films in roles covering a wide range of genres, from light comedy to serious drama. Although his early film roles were partly the result of his good looks, by the later half of the 1950s, he had a notable and strong screen presence. Notable film roles include ; Sweet Smell of Success (1957) / The Defiant Ones (1958) / Some Like It Hot (1959) / Operation Petticoat (1959) / Spartacus (1960) and The Boston Strangler (1968). Married six times he died aged 85 of a cardiac arrest in 2010.
