Vincent Du Vigneaud

VINCENT DU VIGNEAUD d1978. American biochemist. He was the recipient of the 1955 Nobel Prize in Chemistry "for his work on biochemically important sulphur compounds, especially for the first synthesis of a polypeptide hormone" a reference to his work on the peptide hormone oxytocin. He died in New York aged 77 on December 11th 1978
