Yuri Gagarin

YURI GAGARIN d1968. Cosmonaut hero of The Soviet Union who on April 12th 1961 became the first human in outer space and the first to orbit the earth in Vostok 1. His pioneering tour in space brought him worldwide acclaim. Gagarin was killed whilst on a routine training flight in a MIG 15UTI near Kirzhach on 27th March 1968 aged just 34 and was buried in the walls of The Kremlin in Red Square.
