MAGAZINE. English post-punk band first active between 1977-81. They were formed by Howard Devoto after he left punk band the Buzzcocks in early 1977. He had wanted to create a more progressive and less "traditional" rock band. They had two UK Top 20 albums ; Real Life No29 (1978) and The Correct Use of Soap No28 (1980). Guitarist John McGeoch died aged 48 on March 4th 2004
