Arnold Ridley

ARNOLD RIDLEY OBE d1984. English playright and actor. First notable as the author of the play "The Ghost Train" and then later in life for his wonderful portrayal of the elderly Private Charles Godfrey in the classic BBC British sitcom Dads Army between 1968-1977. He died in London aged 88 on March 12th 1984
