James Beck

JAMES BECK d1973. English actor best known for playing the role of Private Walker the cockney spiv in the classic BBC TV sitcom "Dads Army". After working on the sixth series of Dads Army, he suddenly fell ill whilst opening a school fête in aid of Guide Dogs for the Blind. He returned home and within an hour was taken to hospital suffering from pancreatitis. He died in Roehampton just three weeks later aged just 44 on August 6th 1973.
