A lovely original vintage 1955 photocard, clearly signed and dedicated (To Michael) in ink by Arthur Blake


From the wonderful Michael Pinchbeck collection. This amazing collection consisted of over 2000+ music / entertainment / sport / politics & pioneers autographs on index cards / books / letters & photographs. All obtained in-person and through the post by him for 50+ years between the 1950s-1990s. The majority are dedicated to him and date stamped. As part of his archiving, there are numerous letters that help support the history and provenance of his lifetime dedication to the hobby of autograph collecting. Arthur Blake

ARTHUR BLAKE d1985. American actor and nightclub entertainer who was famous for his female impersonations. He performed in nightclubs in cities throughout the United States and United Kingdom in the 1940s and the 1950s. Although he achieved fame for playing women, he impersonated men as well in his act. Also a film actor, he is best remembered for the films Port of New York (1949 as Dolly Carney) / Cyrano De Bergerac (1950 as Montfleury) / Harem Girl (1952 as Abdul Nassib) and Diplomatic Courier (1952 as Max Ralli). He died in Florida aged 71 on March 24th 1985
