From the wonderful Michael Pinchbeck collection. This amazing collection consisted of over 2000+ music / entertainment / sport / politics & pioneers autographs on index cards / books / letters & photographs. All obtained in-person and through the post by him for 50+ years between the 1950s-1990s. The majority are dedicated to him and date stamped. As part of his archiving, there are numerous letters that help support the history and provenance of his lifetime dedication to the hobby of autograph collecting. Betty Grable

BETTY GRABLE d1973. American actress and the highest paid female in Hollywood earning over $300,000 dollars per year during the late1940s. Her film roles include ; Moon Over Miami / Springtime In The Rockies / Cory Island / Sweet Rosie Ogrady / Pin Up Girl and Mother Wore Tights. She is however best known for being the pin-up girl of the WW2 era. Her iconic bathing suit photograph described by LIFE magazine as "one of 100 photographs that changed the world". She was also particularly noted for having the most beautiful legs in Hollywood, famously insured by the studio with Lloyds of London for $1 million USD. She died of lung cancer in California aged just 56 on July 2nd 1973

From the outstanding & huge autograph collection of Jean Williams of Chelsea, all obtained in and around the London Theatres / London Hotels (The Dorchester / The Savoy) /  the BBC Riverside Studios and ITV TV Studios from the late 1950s into the mid 1970s. Including (amongst others) such notables as ; John Lennon / Marlon Brando / Steve McQueen / Sharon Tate / Lee Van Cleef / Ringo Starr and Natalie Wood. Most of the signatures in the collection are dedicated to her by the celebrity and then annotated and dated in her hand.  This Betty Grable autograph is dated 9th March 1969. A wonderful piece of 20th Century Fox film memorabilia, an original multi-signed 1943 Tampico film call-sheet along with an original Pin-Up Girl unsigned call-sheet.

Certification:

One of a small collection of autographs and call sheets all obtained in person by Ronald Rossiter on a studio-tour visit to The Twentieth Century-Fox Film Studios in 1943. Mr Rossiter was a wartime British RAF serviceman and during a visit to Los Angeles he enjoyed the hospitality of "the forces mascot" Anne Gaber. She showed him around the studios introducing him to many cast members and crew during the making of several films. These included Lifeboat / Tampico / Guadalcanal Diary / Buffalo Bill and Pin-Up Girl with Betty Grable. Several of the actors on this particular call sheet appeared in Pin-Up girl alongside Betty Grable. Includes a recent typed letter from his son further detailing the fuller history and provenance.
