Description:

An orginal 1963 cut page from a programme affixed to an autograph book page, clearly signed in ballpoint by Bo Diddley 1963

On the reverse of the page is Mickie Most who toured with him on the same bill in Autumn 1963. He went onto become one of Britains best known record producers and talent-spotters.

Certification:

From the early 1960s autograph book of Catherine Guest of Kingston containing many music notables of the period including the Rolling Stones. Many of the autographs are annotated with dates & places and some are dedicated to her. She met members of the Rolling Stones individually on various occasions. This Bo Diddley autograph was obtained at the Hammersmith Odeon on November 3rd 1963 which was the final date of his tour with headliners (the Everly Brothers) and on the bill support act (The Rolling Stones). About Bo Diddley

Bo Diddley

BO DIDDLEY d2008. American rock & roll guitarist, singer-songwriter and inventor. Known as "The Originator" because of his key role in the transition from the blues to rock & roll thus influencing a host of legendary acts including ; Buddy Holly / The Rolling Stones / Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton. He introduced more insistent, driving rhythms and a hard-edged guitar sound on a wide-ranging catalogue of songs. Accordingly, he was inducted into the Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame and received several Lifetime Achievement Awards. He is also remembered for his technical innovations, including his trademark rectangular guitar. He died of heart failure aged 79 in 2008.

Certification:

From the autograph book (containing many pop music notables) of HP who worked as an ice-cream seller during 1963-64 at The Watford Gaumont. All were collected by her in-person at this venue with the majority being obtained during The Rolling Stones / Everly Brothers 1963 Autumn Tours. There is a copy of a letter from her more fully detailing the history. Our research concludes that this Bo Diddley page would have been signed on 5th October 1963 at the Gaumont Watford.
