BUDDY HOLLY d1959. American singer songwriter and influential early rock n roll pioneer ; in just a short career lasting a year and a half his distinctive style and Fender guitar sound made him a legend. His innovative work and technique was to inspire many of the greats that followed him including The Beatles / The Beach Boys / The Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan. Remembered for a string of classic songs that still sound fresh over 50 years later including ; Thatll Be The Day / Everyday / Peggy Sue / Oh Boy / Maybe Baby / Rave On / Heartbeat / Raining In My Heart and True Love Ways. He died aged just 22 in a plane crash following his concert at The Surf Ballroom Clear Lake Iowa , along with fellow artists Ritchie Valens and The Big Bopper on February 3rd 1959 ; a day that was to become known as "The Day The Music Died" .............
