PAUL CRANE. Lead singer with British pop group The Cryin Shames active between December 1965 to June 1966 produced by Joe Meek. The Cryin Shames first single "Please Stay" was released on the Decca label on 18th February 1966 and reached No26 in the UK charts. It was destined to be Joe Meek's final chart hit before he committed suicide in 1967. They were approached by Brian Epstein who wanted to manage them, but they refused and turned down his offer. The line-up changed in May 1966 and their second single release "Nobody Waved Goodbye" was released the following month. Paul Crane then left to form a new band.
