About Gary Holton

GARY HOLTON d1985. English actor and musician from London. The frontman of 1970s glam-rock band The Heavy Metal Kids. He is however best known for playing the part of Wayne in the popular UK television comedy Auf Wiedersehen Pet. He died aged 33 in 1985, part-way through the making of the second series, from an overdose of morphine combined with alcohol. Producers used body-doubles and clever techniques to complete the filming schedules.
