Graham Bond Organisation

Graham Bond Organisation

GRAHAM BOND ORGANISATION. English R&B group of the 1960s who failed to achieve the popular chart success of their peers of the time, but became notable for jump starting the careers of future legendary Cream duo Jack Bruce d2014 (bass) and Ginger Baker (drums) who left in July 1966. Graham Bond is credited as one of the founding fathers of British R&B ; he is particularily remembered for his technical & musical innovation and being the first rock musician to use the mellotron. Bond himself battled with depression, money issues and drug addiction throughout his life, suffering a nervous breakdown in 1973. He died aged just 36 (recorded as suicide) under the wheels of a train at Finsbury Station London on May 8th 1974.
