Harry Nilsson

HARRY NILSSON d1994. American singer-songwriter who achieved the peak of his commercial success in the early 1970s. He is known for the hit singles Everybodys Talking (1969) / Without You (1971) and Coconut (1972). He also wrote the song "One" made famous by the rock band Three Dog Night. He was one of the few major pop-rock recording artists of his era to achieve significant commercial success without ever performing major public concerts or undertaking regular tours. He will however forever be remembered for the classic 1971 song "Without You" which was a No1 hit all around the world. A room in his London flat became synonymous with the deaths of Cass Elliot and Keith Moon. Later in his life he was beset with financial and health problems. He died of a heart attack aged 52 on January 15th 1994.
