INXS Michael Hutchence

INXS & MICHAEL HUTCHENCE d1997. Lead singer of the Australian rock band INXS first formed as The Farriss Brothers in 1977 in Sydney New South Wales. For twenty years, his "sultry good looks" and magnetic stage presence made him the focal point of the band. The group first charted in the early 1980s in their native Australia with their debut self-titled album, but later garnered moderate success elsewhere with Shabooh Shabooh and the single "One Thing". More mainstream success around the world came with the single "Original Sin" which became their first No1 single. They would later achieve international success with a series of hit recordings through the latter 1980s to the early 1990s, including the albums ; Listen Like Thieves / Kick and X which spawned singles ; What You Need / Need You Tonight / Devil Inside / New Sensation and Suicide Blonde. A depressed 37 year old Michael Hutchence commited suicide by hanging in Sydney on November 22nd 1997, following much publicised romantic liasons with both Kylie Minogue and Paula Yates
